select both column and row headers in datagridview

I would like the user to have the ability to select both row and column headers in my datagridview.  From the selection mode options for some reason it appears possible to do only either row or column headers.  In Excel both can be selected so I know it's at least theoretically possible.  I understand this takes away the sort-by-header-click functionality.
