DataGridView date format issue

Hi

I'm trying to change the format of the date in my gridview table and everything i try does not work, i've researched the internet and what seems to work for everybody, does not work for me and ive been at for for almost 6 hours i don't know what else to do.

In the databound field i have:

DateFormatString set as {0:dd.MM.yyyy}
HtmlEncode = false

From what i've been reading this should work and does work for everybody! I'm really at a loss now, can anybody please help me?
